SPEED RAILWAY: BOUNDARY STONING STARTED IN THE DISTRICT

Kochi: 17 Nov 2021- Prior to the acquisition of land for Thiruvananthapuram -  Kasargod Express way (Silver Line) project, boundary stones were laid in the district at the crossings for survey and social impact assessment. Boundary stones are being laid in Puthencruz and Thiruvankulam villages. The 52.2 km Silver Line route passes through Ernakulam district. 116.31 hectares of land will be acquired in the district. Boundary stones are placed at intervals of 20 m to 100 m. The width of the crossing section is 15 to 25 meters.  Since many places have multiple plots under one survey number, it will be clear after the stone which path the road will pass through. Silver Line will also receive compensation for land acquisition for NH development. Officials said the compensation would be paid under the Land Acquisition Act of 2013. 2721 boundary stones are to be laid in the district. The Revenue Department has so far laid 65 stones. The boundary stones were laid on the Government land. The road passes through Piravom, Maneed , Thiruvaniyoor, Kureekad, Thiruvankulam, Kakkanad, Puthancruz, Kunnathunadu, Kizhakambalam, Chowara, Chenganad and Nedumbassery villages. The Silver Line Station is near the Kakkanad Infopark.  From Kottayam the road will enter via Ettumanoor and Piravom, turn from Thripunithura the road will enter into Thrissur district via Irumpanam, Kakkanad Infopark, Pallikkara, Aluva, Nedumbassery and Angamaly. The travel time from Kakkanad to Thrissur on the Silver Line is 21 minutes and to Kottayam it is 23 minutes. 52.2 km Silver Line passes through Ernakulam district. 116.31 hectares of land will be acquired in the district.
