COMEBACK IN REAL ESTATE : THE NUMBER OF PROJECTS REGISTERED IN ‘RERA’ IS DOUBLE THAT OF 2021

Trivandrum :  The real estate sector in Kerala has signaled a comeback after the Covid crisis. The number of real estate projects has more than doubled compared to 2021. 46 projects were registered with the Kerala Real Estate Regulatory Authority (KRA) from January to May in the year of 2021, while the number of projects registered in 2022 at the same time is 95. K - Rera was the authority in charge of monitoring real estate projects in Kerala. By the end of 2021, the total number of projects registered under K - Rera was 645. With the addition of 95 projects, the total number of projects is 740 in the year of 2022.

                Out of the 95 projects in 2022, most (65) are flat complexes. 23 villa projects have also been registered. In 2021, there were 29 flat complexes and 15 villa projects. Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram were the most competitive districts in the real estate sector. Ernakulam registered 48 real estate projects in 2022, followed by Thiruvananthapuram with 38. KRA chairman P. H Kurian said that there is good movement in the real estate sector in Kerala.
