Special empanelment for construction licensees Will Begin Soon

Thiruvananthapuram: Special empanelment for construction licensees will be launched soon as part of the new scheme of issuing construction permits within 5 working days for low risk buildings.

Registration will be through the offices of the Joint Director, Urban Affairs in Kollam, Kochi and Kozhikode in the State.The fee for this has also been fixed by the government.

According to this, the fee for an architect, category A building designer, engineer and town planner is Rupees 12,000 each, and category A supervisor has to pay a fee of Rupees 6000.

The fee for Category B Building Designer, Engineer and Town Planner is Rupees 10,000 each. The B category supervisor only has to pay an amount of Rupees 4000, and the fee for a senior supervisor is Rupees 8000.

The new scheme involves the land owner and the engineer submitting the plan and self-attestation to the panchayat or municipality.

Houses belonging to the low-risk category of 3230 sq. Ft., commercial buildings of 1077 sq. Ft., educational institutions of 2153 sq. Ft., hostels, orphanages, dormitories, old age homes, seminaries and religious buildings are the ones which are eligible to receive the construction permit.The rules for this were amended at the end of last month.
